NATUROPATHY • HERBAL MEDICINE • WHOLEFOOD NUTRITION

Smith & Co Naturopathic medicine is the private practice of naturopath Samantha Smith. Born and bred in Newcastle NSW, Sam graduated from the University of Newcastle in 1997 with a degree in Environmental Science (Biology major).

After traveling and working overseas she moved to Perth and began studying Naturopathy at the Perth Academy of Natural Therapies. She joined South Perth Naturopathic Clinic in 2004 and served a valuable mentorship to accompany her studies, which were completed in 2007.

Sam specialises in women’s health and considers herself a passionate advocate for women’s health issues preceding adolescence to beyond menopause. She also has a particular interest investigating and supporting optimal GUT health and uncovering the causes of the common presentation of fatigue.

Sam is heavily influenced both personally and professionally by the philosophy underpinning her degree in Environmental Science. She is a meticulous researcher for her practice and keeps traditional healing philosophy close by. Sam complements her private practice by lecturing budding naturopathic students in herbal medicine and clinic supervision. To support her interest in women’s health, Sam has completed a Master of Women’s Health Care through Edith Cowan University.

Sam can often be found giving public and corporate talks on the topic of the GUT and the microbiota. For three years, over the summer months, Sam had a residency every Saturday on the 6PR talkback radio show The Weekender.
